H-Flumes

H-Type flumes, available in HS, H, and HL styles, provide excellent accuracy and rangability for flow in open channels where free-falling discharge conditions occur. The flumes were designed for the study of agricultural runoff, but are also ideally suited for monitoring storm water run-off and industrial flow monitoring. The flat bottom of the flume allows for the passage of silt, while the open face allows for the passage of larger debris.

H-flumes are sized by the depth of the flume and the geometry of the discharge face. H-flumes differ from other flumes, as they are more V-notch weirs than flume based on their exit geometry. They are more properly termed open channel flow nozzles, but are listed as flumes because of historical precedent.
